Wanstead Flats: Large buzzard sized raptor circling high over Bush Wood, being mobbed by crows at first then west, straight flat winged with kink at wrist apparent sometimes, Kestrel, 3 Sand Martin, 3 House Martin, 50 + Swift, Lesser Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, 2 Little Egret north (Nick Croft) (Flat wing! sounds like a Honey). Was hoping someone on the Lockwood might have seen it and confirmed what it was! When it was avoiding the crows it did look somewhat owl like in the way it flew. KGV res: 1 female Black Redstart by sailing club.Woodford station (IG8): 2 Red Kite drifting NE over Woodford station.Staines Reservoir: 4 Ringed Plover through early am. 2 Arctic tern  c 6 Common Tern, 2 Black-necked Grebe.Queen Mother Reservoir: Sanderling, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 4 Ringed Plover.

Today i found yet another HONEY BUZZARD low over lockwood but this time i had my back to the sun so giving stunning views of the bird.It filled up the scope and was performing well until 2 lesser black-backed gulls got onto it and pushed it off north.

Coulsdon: Osprey slowly drifting south 12.10, v high.Walthamstow Reservoirs: Lockwood, Whimbrel, Little Ringed Plover, 9 Common Tern, White Wagtail (KJMcmanus).Brent Reservoir: Red Kite drifted NW 10.35-10.43, also Common Buzzard W at 12.00.Alexandra Park: Red Kite 0810-0827 flew in low from the east viewed from Filter Beds then rode the ridge thermals circling and gaining height before drifting off NE towards.Rainham Marshes: At least 4 Hobby (one of which was unusually pale, mooted as possible 1cy male Red-Footed Falcon - not sure of outcome), 3 Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Sparrowhawk. 2 Cuckoo, Ross' Goose back again and 1 Black Swan. Singing Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Sedge Warbler and Reed Warbler, Steady Swallow passage and fewer House Martins, 4 Whimbrel, 2 Avocet, 1 Dunlin, Lapwing and 2 Oystercatcher. 40+ Shelduck and Tufted, Gadwall, Mallard, Pochard and Shovelor all present along with a few Wigeon.1 Common Scoter reported on (far side of) Thames.The Common Scoter was over on Rainham Marshes side in Aveley Bay 10.30 - 11.30 am, at least.
