Today i was hoping for some migration at the patch and i did in the form of a WHIMBREL which was calling and flying south over lockwood res.

White-winged black Terns.

Staines Reservoir: White-winged Black Tern present on the S basin till 5.58 then flew high north-east and no further sign by 8.20 also a Turnstone through at 6.20.

Not much on the bird front at the patch today just 10+ common sandpipers but i did get a moth tick a POPULAR HAWKMOTH which was hiding in the walthamstow toilets.I would like thank @ArlyRes for the ID.

I wish dan had come to walthamstow later in the year and we would have had a lot more birds.Highlight of the day a summer plumage DUNLIN a 1st for me in that plumage at the patch.

London's famous birding spot is hosting some american birders on the 25th that are being going to be showed around the site by me.My fame seems to be global.LOL.One bird I must find them is a KINGFISHER.

Common Redstart.

East Wickham Open Space (LB Bexley): female Common Redstart, in oaks along cemetery wall at the Camdale Rd end of the park. 12:15.Lake Park CP, Hayes: no sign of the Red-backed Shrike, 10-11am (Jon Agar), but there were rumours of an earlier sighting. I was there from 7.30 to 9am and no sign but it had been seen at first light perched on a bush near the path before it dropped down out of sight.

Lake Farm CP, Hayes: adult male Red-backed Shrike reported early (06:00AM) then once briefly between 06:30 and 09:00 in small Hawthorn bushes East of BMX track.City EC2A, Broadgate area. Black Redstart on rooftops.Crayford Marshes: 19 Yellow-legged Gull, adult Mediterranean Gull, 6 Greenshank, 2 Whimbrel, Curlew, Green Sandpiper, 6 Common Sandpiper, 3 Corn Bunting.

FALSE ALARM

Black-tailed Godwit.

The hudwit is just a BLACK-TAILED GODWIT.
