Beddington SF: Long-tailed Skua 10:45 flew SW. Little Stint.Bentley Priory: 3 Ravens in area between deer park and lake. Rainham Marshes: 2 Pectoral Sandpipers on Purfleet Scrape at noon then flew towards Aveley Pools. Also Turtle Dove south during morning.

I like to keep a record of my hits & dips of twitching in london. I have been on six trips to see london lifers and have scored on five times and dipped once which puts me a 83% hit rate which i think is not bad.

LONDON BAILLONS CRAKE

BAILLON'S CRAKE LONDON.
After 13 and a half hours looking for the BAILLON'S CRAKE i finally scored today putting me on 267 for london.The bird gave stunning views when it was preening,and also it was calling and also i see it swimming between reed beds.

LONDON NEWS

Black-tailed Godwit.
Rainham Marshes RSPB: Juv BAILLON'S CRAKE seen briefly at 06.00. Baillon's Crake was seen through the gloom and mist at around 6.00am but not tickable for the majority present - just a small grey/brown moving blob for a brief few seconds. Also seen: 3 Water Rail, 3 Hobby, 1 Little Egret, a few Little Grebe, Sedge Warblers and Reed Warblers. Also around the reserve: 9 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Green Sandpiper, 2 Greenshank, 9 Common Snipe, 2 Cetti's Warbler. (Neil Randon). Showed very well at 12:35pm.

Lockwood res.

Yet another great day at the patch when i connected with a PECTORAL SANDPIPER at lockwood res. This was only the second record for walthamstow a much needed bird by all local patchers bar one.(lol cumming).

A good day at lockwood today with a low flying TREE PIPIT over my head and it was also calling and soon after that 2 calling SANDWICH TERNS which stayed for about 20 minutes. Patch life 134.
